INTO LIFE UNLIMITED

Text; Ephesians 3:14 -21

The unsearchable riches in Christ is the unlimited life of the believer.  No matter the spiritually heights we may attain in this life, we will never get to search out all of the graciousness in Christ Jesus because it is deeper than we can ever imagine. It is  so big we can never get around it. Yet Paul prays that we may understand it.

The heart of true discipleship is that which has become selfless and is purely devoted to the master and his cause. Paul's prayers as well as that of other apostles in different parts of the scriptures, show us what is of paramount importance to them. We can never really see anywhere they are praying for personal material and financial well being,  collective wealth of the gentiles to become theirs nor calling fire down on their enemies.  The Prayers we make today as a church  is usually laughable. The things we demand of God are all childish and selfish merely for satisfying our bellies.

Paul prays the Father that

1. Power be given to us through his spirit to be strong in our inner selves

2. That Christ will make his home in our hearts through faith

3. That we may have our roots and foundation in love

4. That together with all God's people, we may have power to understand how broad and long, how deep and high the love of Christ is

5. That we may come to know his love, even though it may never fully be known, and so be completely filled with the very nature of God.

These are basically the five points of his classical prayer. A pattern for us to emulate both for personal and corporate prayers. This is the kind of prayer that builds up our inner man. It is the prayer that energizes our faith and assures the growth of the spirit. Today we are so filled with the beggarly spirit of the poor and outcasts that all we always think about when we come before God is what we can get and get and get! It's such a poverty stricken mentality.

Paul says: "All things are Yours!". Christ's victory has given us every thing we need. It is heart breaking to see pastors adopting Machiavellian principles to incite the base nature of man even right inside the church. They take a portion of the scriptures and twist it out of context teaching their own doctrines instead of Christ'. People then become so obsessed with 'making it' because according to their teaching it is a crime to be a christian and remain poor".

Beloved, all things have been given to us. Paul as a minister was once a lawyer. When he left his profession and became a prisoner of Christ, he took up tent making. With his two hands he worked, not to amass wealth but to provide the basic needs for himself and his companions. Jesus taught us to be content. He says if you have food and clothing that is enough. Why make our prayers all about material things.

Unlimited life of Grace is the life that is rooted and founded on God's love. It is the life fully established and growing in the love of God. This love overcomes everything we know and becomes us completely. That is when we actually begin to live. Let us therefore take time to check the new testament scriptures and observe the pattern of prayers said by Jesus and the apostles. We'll see what their heartbeats were. May such also become ours through Christ Jesus. Amen!
