THE COST OF DISCPLESHIP

Text; Luke 15:25-35

SCRIPTURE;

Vs 26: If any man come to me and hate not his father, mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters; yes,  and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Today's reading comes as a reminder to you, dear believer in Christ, that you are a product of the decisions you make. What are the difficulties and challenges you're are currently facing? Are there truly no easy way out of these situations? No, there are. But, you have consciously remained in that difficult situation because of a decision you have taken some time in the past. May I remind you? You made a commitment to follow Christ. To go wherever he leads. You said, his people will be your people and his God your God. You're passing through diverse challenges and living consistently in self denial because you are still keeping to your vows. Congratulations!

Sometimes, believers seem to forget but, God does not. He wants you to put this verse in the forefront of your eyes, daily, so that you will not loose your guard. When you're conscious of what you're doing, it is very difficult to be side tracked. Therefore, Pastors, evangelists, bishops and all preachers must ensure that they read out these verses to their converts and prospective converts, wherever and whenever the message is preached. Salvation is free but relationship with Jesus comes at a price. That price is YOUR LIFE! Knowing Christ and being with him requires that you hands-up completely and begin to live your life entirely on the stipulated standards of God's word. You will not only carry your cross, rather,  you must carry it and still follow Jesus, cheerfully.

Finally, keep in mind that Psychologies and philosophies  deceitful men preach on their pulpits can never change God's word. Following  God is not only about living a fulfilling and blessed life. The blessings actually comes as we carefully adhere to this principles discipleship. Paying the dues and costs of discipleship is what guarantees our gain of blessedness both here and hereafter.  This is who we are and this is where we stand; forever committed to God and his infallible word. Remain blessed as you keep step with the master. Amen!
