WHERE ARE YOU, GOD?

Text; Psalms 22:1-12

SCRIPTURE:

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me? Why are you so far from the words of my groaning? (v1)

These were the exact words of Jesus on the cross in Matthew 27:46. He experienced the excruciating pain of being deserted by his father and abandoned by all loved ones. Loneliness and desperation crouched at him to overpower him. Yet he didn't give up. Jesus passed through such a phase in his life just like many of us today. If he did, then we must not see our own suffering as something strange. Sometimes we pray continuously concerning a particular issue but it seems that heaven is shut over us. This kind of dark times in our faith is common to all believers but unique to everyone. As we continue to mature in our most holy Faith, diverse challenges will come our way to test us. Those tests which God permits, do not come to destroy us, rather they come for our purification and promotion. It is when we remain steadfast in faith despite the apparent silence  of God at such times that we can say we are growing and bearing  fruit.

"But you are he who took me out of the womb. You made me trust while on my mothers breasts. I was cast upon you from birth from my mother's womb, you have been my God. Be not far from me for trouble is near. For there is none to help!" (9-11)

Is the above scripture your testimony? Have you known the lord from your mother's womb? Where you consecrated and dedicated to God from birth? Have you been in fellowship with him even before you got born again, just as you dedicate your own children? Then fear not. Whatever trouble  that is near will not swallow you. Even though there is none to help; you have God as your keeper. He is your shade at your right hand and He never sleeps nor slumbers because he is watching over you. He has promised: I will never leave you nor forsake you. The trick of the enemy is to make you feel that you are forgotten by God so that you are tempted to find solution from elsewhere but God says, You are blessed, when you pass through trials for when you have been tested and found faithful He will give you the crown of life which He promised to those that love him (James 1:12)

Father, your unshakeable love gives us hope and victory for we rest on the assurance that you will never fail. Even though Jesus was deserted for a while, you did not allow him to see decay in the grave. Therefore, Let every grave of affliction we are in right now receive a command from you to burst open that we may come forth, in Jesus name. Amen.
