A PLACE OF SAFETY

Bible Text: Genesis 7:1 - 24

Scripture: 

Verse 1: And the Lord said unto Noah come, thou and all thy house into the ark for thee have I found righteous before me in this generation. Verse 23 "And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the earth, and only Noah remained alive and they that were with him in the ark" 

In Genesis chapter 6: 5-6 God saw the wickedness of man was very great and every imagination of his heart was eveil continually, so it repented him that he had made man and grieved his heart and in verse 7, the lord vowed that he will destroy the man he has made from off the face of the earth. Along with man, all living things were also condemned. Everything was to be wiped out. God determined this judgement and is set to carry it out. Nothing will make him change his mind. 

However, in his merciful nature, he will not punish the innocent along with the guilty. Hence, He deemed Noah righteous in his generation. Of all the millions of people inhabiting the entire then world, only Noah and the people with him and the animals he obediently gathered into the ark were saved. The rest of all living things were completely destroyed by the flood. God can never be mocked. He can kill and also make alive. 

2 Peter 3:7 informs us that the world which now is, has been reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men. Judgement must surely uphold. It is certain. The good news is that not all will be judged. There is a way of escape. It is in Jesus. John 3:18 - "He that believeth in him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God".

Only those who accept Jesus and come into the ark of a relationship with him will be saved from the certain fearful judgement awaiting this generation. If God saved only eight people from the old world and used them to build this present world. He can still do it again. Do not be deceived that the world will never end. Rather, find the way of escape for you and your loved ones.

Father, you did it before and you will do it again. Judgement is determined against this world and it must surely uphold. Help us to hold unto Jesus the sure way of escape, that we may not be destroyed along with the ungodly. In Jesus name. Amen.
