PREACH SOUND GOSPEL

Scripture: 

Isaiah 30:9-10 "that this is a rebellious children that will not hear the law of the lord which say to the prophets; prophesy not unto us right things, speak to us smooth things; prophesy deceit".

Paul had already seen the tide. Therefore he warns Timothy in chapter 3; "at the end perilous times shall come men; shall be lovers of their own selves...lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but deny the power thereof...ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth". "Therefore , I Paul charge you BE INSTANT IN SEASON AND OUT.  Peach the word, rebuke, reprove exhort with all longsuffering".  This is our charge this morning. Timothy of course lived up to Paul' expectations and by extension, that of Jesus. He carried the message forward and expanded the gospel message more.  WHAT ABOUT YOU? 

Sound doctrine is very scarce today. Motivational speeches, material success, prosperity messages, divine healing and breakthrough and the like have taken over  almost every pulpit. Ministers who are bent on preaching holiness and righteousness have only very few members in their congregation. According to Isaiah 30; 10 above,  Men would rather listen to lies and deceit; they prefer smooth talk to the raw milk of God's word which is able to save their souls. This is why every minister is trying hard to out-do the other in giving the itching ears what they want to hear. Sadly, Knowledge of God's word becomes very rare and people of God continually perish.

But you, O man of God,  look not at the rebellious children who want to hear only smooth words, to their own detriment. Speak to them the real gospel message of God's word. Speak about his soon coming kingdom and the saving grace in his son Jesus. Preach, teach reprove exhort continuously! Do not look at their faces. Tell them the truth so that he that has ears will hear. Do not forget for once that YOU ARE GOD'S WATCHMAN. 

Father, your word of truth which you have committed into our hands will never die. Fill us up again today to be ready to face any opposition but ensure that men and women of all ages hear the true word of the gospel. And come to the saving grace in your son Jesus Christ. Amen.
