GOD'S RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT OF SIN

Text: Romans 2:1-16

Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

Romans 2:3 ESV

No matter how much we try to excuse ourselves, God says today, "O man thou art inexcusable". Especially when you judge others. We judge, slander, tear down and bear false witness, yet we are guilty of the very same offences for which we condemn others. That is preparing double punishment and judgement for ourselves. Through the law it is proven that no one is righteous, not even one, for all have sinned and have come short of God's glorious image. Therefore only Jesus has the right to judge the world. Yet in his first revelation he declared, I haven't come to judge the world but to save it

God will Judge sin. His judgement is righteous. God will Judge those who live according to the things listed in Romans 1:18-32.

Some people judge others who live in that manner but they do the same things. Such people will also be judged by God. Such people are inexcusable. The only way to escape God's judgement that comes upon the wicked and the unrighteous is to repent. God is rich in His goodness and forbearance and long-suffering. He gives us enough leverage to repent and so we are inexcusable. When Jesus come to judge, He will render to everyone according to his works.

God is not sentimental in judgement. He does not know Jews or Gentiles. He does not know white or black. He only knows us according to our works and that is how he will judge. God  also judges according to the standard He has made available to men at different times. Those who lived without the law will be judged without the law. Those who lived under the law will  be judged according to the law. While those who live under Grace will be judged according to the power of Grace. Some will be condemned by their consciences, others by the Law and others for neglecting Grace.

Nonetheless, if Jesus was more interested in saving the world than condemning it, even, when he is lord and king over every breathing creature, how much more should we be compassionate and more interested  in saving souls than condemning them . In Mathew 7 we are asked not to judge that we may not be judged. Sometimes we overlook Jesus words because we are forgetful of his commamds. Today is another opportunity to remember his instructions about judgement. Bear one another's burden and so fulfil the law of love, for in so doing; in loving others is the law fulfilled. Let us, therefore, resolve to be more focused on sharing the gospel truth with those who are without, rather than passing judgement on them for even while we were yet sinners , Christ Jesus died for us all.

🙏 Father, thank you for your Grace which saves us. Help us to be compassionate towards others and share your gospel of salvation relentlessly, in Jesus name. Amen.
